Download technology has come a long way since KCPL became the first library in the state to offer it, so we're subscribing to a new downloadable audiobook service called Overdrive. We think you'll find the new service easy to use, and enjoy the new options, like burning certain titles to disc, downloading portions of books rather than the entire thing, and gaining access to more current bestsellers.

There will be a small gap in our service as we switch over, beginning April 1 and ending in late May. So if you're looking for something in the meantime, check out Project Gutenberg for great downloadable classics.

If you want to buy a new media player for downloadable audiobooks, check the list of compatible devices tested by OverDrive. If you already had one that worked with NetLibrary, chances are that it will also work with OverDrive.
